Luiz completes PSG move

Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Former Chelsea defender David Luiz completed a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 club announced on Friday.
Luiz moves from Stamford Bridge to the Parc des Princes on a new five-year contract for a reported 40 million pound transfer fee -- a record for a defender.
"Right from the very first contact I had with Paris Saint-Germain, I was very happy," Luiz told the club's website. "It's a big club with a great history. It's a new step in my life and I'm impatient to play for Paris and show what I can do."
Luiz, 27, joined the Blues from Portuguese side Benfica in 2011 for 21 million pounds and made 143 appearances, helping the club win the Europa League in 2013 and reach the Champions League semifinals last season.
In Paris, Luiz will join up with his international teammate Thiago Silva, who also set a transfer record for a defender when he joined PSG for 36 million pounds from AC Milan.
